Automation Rules

Automation Rules

CHeKT is proud to announce the public release of the Automation Rules. When this function is enabled, the integrator is granted access to a wide range of new site-level functions that can create a unique, custom experience for their client. Need the customer's gate to close any time the system is armed? What about trigger talk down when an alarm is detected on a specific camera? All of these combinations (and many more) are now available. The conditions can even be set dependent on the arming status of the bridge or time of day. Below, we have included an example of configuring the bridge to Automate Talkdown based on a camera trigger as an example, but this is only one of the many functions that can be programmed.
Access to the Automation Rules in the CHeKT Portal is a premium feature, and requires that the respective Dealer Account be upgraded to one of the CHeKT Premier Plans. Contact your Central Station or CHeKT Sales Representative for upgrade inquiries.

Enabling Automation Rules

Navigate to the targeted Site Account where automation rules will be applied.
Click on Site Details menu tab
Click on Automation Rules submenu tab
Click on Add Rule or Set Up Your First Automation Rule tab.

In the Automation Rule window, Step 1 is where you will need to select the Source Event that will then cause the action for the automation rule. Sources available are Camera Triggered, Arming Change, Armed Status, and Monitoring Portal. The selected source can be programmed to cause a variety of outcomes; select the condition that will cause your desired event. In this example we will choose Camera Triggered as our source event.

After Selecting Camera Triggered as the Source Event, the next step will be to select the camera(s) that will need to be triggered to cause the action you will select in step 2.
Camera Triggered alarm source can be either Digital Input or Onvif Event

Once you have selected the camera(s) click Next to move to Step 2.

In Step 2, you will select the action(s) for Automation. The available actions for Camera Triggered event source are: Talkdown, Record Video (20 seconds), 2 Minute of Pre-recording, and relay - or a combination of these if more actions are added. In this example we are going to select Talkdown.

Once you have selected Talkdown, the next step is selecting the Talkdown Message that will be played when the source event is initiated.

Once you have selected the desired Talkdown Message, the next step is selecting the targeted Speaker(s), and the number of times you would like the message played. In this Step you may also choose to add an additional action if desired, otherwise click Next to proceed to Step 3.
In Automation "Bridge Speaker" are speakers connected to the Bridge Hardware via the audio input jack. IP speakers hold their own identity and will be listed as with the label used when they were mounted to a Bridge.

In Step 3, you may apply an optional condition if desired, in this example we'll apply a Time condition.

Once selected, you will then select the days and times you desired for the Automation Rule to be in effect, you may also add an additional condition if desired, otherwise click Next to proceed.

In step 4, you will name your new Automation Rule, and add an optional note, the rule should be enabled by default, but its always good to make sure it its.  Click Next to move to the last step.

In step 5, you simply just need to review the newly added rule and if all is correct, click Done to complete.

Always test newly added rules for proper and expected function.
