Bridge Relay and the End-User App

Bridge Relay Configuration and End-User App Navigation

With the release of our Version 2 Hardware Model, the CHeKT Solution incorporated the ability to interface with a myriad of external devices by way of a simple relay output. Once configured, the relay can grant operators the ability to create a “real-world” impact on site from their station, using our intuitive Monitoring Portal. Trigger gate openings, energize flood lights, or even trip an access control input with the click of a mouse or press of a touchscreen. Read on to find out how easy it is to grant a monitoring operator or end user control of their site.

The relay function is only available with CKB304v2 and CKB312 hardware.

The CKB304 V2 Relay is only rated at 100mA. Please avoid damage to unit by exceeding power draw.

Hardware Connection:

  1. The CKB304 V2 and CKB312 have relay outputs that can be energized from both the Dealer and Monitoring Portals and now the End-User App.

  1. Terminal Location:
    1.  CKB304 : C
    2. CKB312:
  2. As with most security hardware, there is continuity between the NC (normally closed) and C terminals in a non-energized state, and no continuity during an energized state.
  3. The reverse is true for the NO (normally open) terminal; there is no continuity between the NO and C pin when the relay isn't energized, and continuity when the relay is energized,
  4. Circuit independent from Alarm Inputs and Arming Input

Portal Configuration

The relay output is not a premium function and will be available to anyone installing a  CKB304 V2 or newer models . Always remember to verify the central station has a plan in place to utilize the relay for your desired function - additional CS fees may apply.

  1. After Registering an applicable Bridge on an up-to-date software build, users will immediately notice the (currently disabled) Relay is listed in your Device List in the Dealer Portal:

  1. Mouse over the Relay to see the familiar configuration gear and map location button and click to open menu(identical to those of the IP camera in the device list):

    1. Use Relay toggle button: Enables/Disables Relay function
    2. Allow Relay Control in Monitoring Portal toggle button: Allows/Disallows the Monitoring Personnel to manually engage relay with software toggle, and see relay on Monitoring Map.
    3. Allow Relay Control in End-User Portal toggle button: Allows/Disallow the End User to Toggle the Relay from the CHeKT.com mobile application.
    4. Name of Relay
    5. Current Relay Status "Normal/Energized."
    6. Click Status Label/Icon to open Labeling Options:

      1. Custom Label For Relay States: This is for something like "Pump on" "Pump Off" "Gate Secure/Ajar" Etc. These labels will be visible in the Monitoring and Dealer interface.
      2. Same Idea, but the picture overlayed on the "button" in software. Some options include:

    1. 7.  Click Associate Camera to open the camera assignment window. You can select from already connected cameras on that Bridge to associate a camera stream with the relay; changing states will create a snapshot event sourced from that stream

      1. Select the camera (only 1 of 4 possible shown) and click "assign"
  1. 8. Click Type of Control to configure relay state change specifics:

    1. Latch: Click Checkbox to enable. When energized, the state will maintain that status until canceled by the portal user or Six hours passes.
    2. Momentary: With the slider set the number of seconds a momentary trigger will keep the relay state energized.
    3. On the left, you can test either relay function directly from this screen while configuring, and the top box is where the thumb of the assigned camera will be displayed.
    4. Automated Engage
      1. Authorized users can now set the relay to change state automatically when the Monitoring Portal is launched - this function is great for engaging a spotlight or starting an automated voice-sequence.
      2. Just select the desired automatic function and check the box to enable~
