Add Bulk Cameras: Bulk Camera Mounting

Add Bulk Cameras via the CHeKT Dealer Portal

Overview

The Bulk Add Camera feature in the CHEKT Dealer Portal allows dealers to efficiently add multiple cameras to a customer site simultaneously, regardless of whether the cameras share default credentials or use unique passwords. This article outlines the step-by-step process for using this feature.

Prerequisites

Before beginning, ensure you have:

  • Active dealer access to the CHEKT Dealer Portal
  • The customer site already created in the portal
  • Knowledge of the camera credentials (default or unique)
  • At least one VCP assigned to the customer site

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Navigate to the Customer Site

  1. Log in to your Dealer Portal
  2. Navigate to the Customers tab.
  3. Locate and select the appropriate customer site
  4. Go to Site Details and select the Devices submenu.

Step 2: Initiate the Bulk Add Process

  1. Click the Add button in the top-right corner of the device list.
  2. Select Add Bulk Camera from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Configure Camera Credentials (Step 1 of 5)

You will be prompted to enter camera credentials. There are several options available:

Option
Description
Default Password
Use this if all cameras share the same default username and password.
Common Username & Password
Use this if you are aware of additional shared credentials beyond the default.
Custom Username & Password
Use this for any other known credential combinations that may apply to cameras on the network.
Unique Passwords
Select "My cameras use unique passwords" to enter credentials individually for each camera.

Once credentials have been entered, click Next to proceed.

Step 4: Camera Discovery (Step 2 of 5)

The system will scan the network and discover all available ONVIF-compatible devices that match the credentials provided.

Once the discovery process is complete, an information bar at the top of the screen will display a summary including:

  • ✅ Successful credential matches
  • 🔒 Already Registered cameras (unavailable for use)
  • ❌ Failed cameras (incorrect username or password)

You can review each discovered camera and filter results by NameModelIP Address, or MAC Address.
Select the cameras you wish to add using the checkboxes provided, and optionally assign names to each camera at this stage.

Click Next to continue with the selected cameras.

Step 5: Configure Camera Settings (Step 3 of 5)

On the Settings screen, you can configure the following for your selected cameras:

  • ONVIF Triggers / Digital Input Triggers – Apply triggers in bulk to all cameras or configure them individually per camera.
  • Zone Type – Select the appropriate trigger type, similar to how trigger types are assigned on an alarm panel, Instant Zone, Entry/Exit Zone, etc.
  • Camera Names – Assign or update individual camera names.

Click Next once all settings have been configured.

Step 6: Assign Cameras to a VCP (Step 4 of 5)

If multiple VCPs are available, use the drag-and-drop interface to assign cameras to the appropriate VCP.

Notes
Note: If you do not wish to assign all selected cameras to a VCP at this time, click "Proceed Without Assigning Camera". Otherwise, assign all cameras and click Next.

Step 7: Mounting and Completion (Step 5 of 5)

The system will begin mounting the cameras. Once the process is complete, a success screen will be displayed.

The information bar will indicate the results:

  • 🟢 Green – Camera successfully added
  • 🔴 Red – Camera failed to add

Review any failures and address them as needed. Click Done to finalize the process.
