Connecting Evalink to CHeKT

Connecting Evalink to CHeKT

Connecting an Evalink Receiver in the CHeKT Platform

A step-by-step guide covering site setup, receiver connection and customer account linking

Part 1A: Creating a Customer Account in the Evalink Platform

Step 1: Navigate to Sites

Log in to the Evalink software. In the left-hand navigation menu, select Sites.

Step 2: Create a new site

On the Sites page, click Create Site in the top-right corner.

Step 3: Enter a Site ID

On the Basic tab of the Create Site window, enter a unique Site ID. Using the same Site ID from CHeKT is a helpful convention for keeping records consistent, though this is optional. Make sure Activate Site is checked.

Step 4: Fill in the site overview details

On the Site Overview / Settings page, fill in the available fields:

  • Site: Site Name and Site Group. (Site Type and Service Companies are available but infrequently used.)
  • Address: Company Name, First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone.

Click Save Configuration once complete.

Step 5: Navigate to Receivers

After saving the configuration, click the Receivers tab in the site's navigation bar.

Step 6: Add the Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver

Click Add Virtual Receiver, then select Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver from the list.

Notes
If this option is not available, ensure Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver integration is enabled at the company level. Go to the company's Integrations menu and confirm the Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver shows as Enabled (or click Add Integration if it hasn't been added yet).

Step 7: Configure the Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver

In the Create Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver menu, set the following:

  • SLA: Set to SP2 eth (25h).
  • Device Type: Set to Generic.
  • Alarm Definition: Set to Contact ID - CHeKT.

The remaining fields under Info (Device Name, Hardware Type, Manufacturer, etc.) are optional and can be used for additional labeling. Click Submit to create the receiver with the listed configuration.

Step 8: Note the DC-09 Account and Encryption Key

Once the receiver is created, record the Dc09 Account number and Encryption Key shown on the receiver's summary page. These values will be needed later to complete the connection on the CHeKT side.

Part 1B: Setting Up an Account for Receiver Supervision

Step 1: Create a dedicated supervision site

To monitor the health of the receiver connection (recommended), create a separate site in Evalink specifically for connection supervision. From the Sites page, click Create Site to begin.

Step 2: Label the site

On the new site's Overview / Settings page, enter a clear, identifiable Site Name, such as "Receiver Connection Supervision," so the site's purpose is obvious immediately. Click Save Configuration.

Step 3: Add a Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver to the supervision site

Following the same process used in Part 1A (Receivers tab → Add Virtual Receiver → Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver → configure and submit), add a Virtual SIA DC-09 Receiver to this supervision site.

Once created, record the Dc09 Account number and Encryption Key shown on the receiver's summary page — these are separate from the customer account's credentials and will be used specifically for connection supervision.

Part 2: Creating the XML Receiver in the CHeKT Dealer Portal

Step 1: Navigate to the XML Alarm Receiver settings

Log in to the CHeKT Dealer Portal with administrator credentials. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the left-hand navigation menu, then select XML Alarm Receiver under the Integration section.

Step 2: Start a new receiver

Step 4: Configure the connection details

Fill out the remaining fields on the Add Connection Adapter form:

  • Name: Enter a name for the connection.
  • External Dealers: Check this box if applicable.
  • Passkey: If creating external visibility, setting a Passkey is recommended. This will need to be provided to dealers when the connection to this receiver is established.
  • Enable this Adapter: Make sure this checkbox is selected to enable the connection.
  • Enable Encryption and enter the Encryption Key from your Connection Supervision Site (removed from image).
  • List the DC09 Account Number from the Connection Supervision Site
  • Select the proper Server Region.
    Info
This Server Region is based on where the Evalink Server Instance is established. If unsure, confirm with Evalink/Sitasys support.

Step 5: Save the receiver

Click the blue save button to create the receiver.

Step 6: Navigate to Monitoring Station

Click the Settings (gear) icon again, then select Monitoring Station under the Integration section to create a monitoring station record using the receiver you just created.

Step 7: Add a new monitoring station

On the Monitoring Station page, click Add in the top-right corner.

Step 8: Configure the Monitoring Station

In the Create a Monitoring Station window:

  • Select the Alarm Receiver you just created (e.g., "CHeKT Training Evalink Connection") from the dropdown.
  • Enter the Passkey that was set up in the previous step. Note: any dealer connecting to this receiver will need this passkey.
  • Give the station a Name that is easily recognizable for configuration purposes.

Part 3: Site Linking in CHeKT

Step 1: Locate the Monitoring Station field

On the site's General page in the CHeKT Dealer Portal, locate the Monitoring Station box under the Information section.

Note: Before proceeding, make sure you have the DC-09 Account number and Encryption Key from the site you created in Part 1A, Step 8.

Click the Monitoring Station box to open the Edit Central Station to Account window. Configure the following:

  • Select Monitoring Station: Choose the monitoring station created in Part 1.
  • Account Number: Enter the DC-09 Account number from the Evalink platform.
  • Encryption Key: Enter the Encryption Key (removed from image) from the Evalink platform.

Helpful Notes

Note: Setting the Size of the Monitoring Portal Window

Step 1: Open Settings

Click the user icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Locate the URL Iframe Height setting

In the Settings menu, select Workflows from the left-hand list. Locate the URL Iframe Height (pixels) field under Alarm Attachments.

Note: Ensuring Supervision Is Operational

Step 1: Open the Receiver Log

From the familiar XML Alarm Receiver menu, click View Receiver Log at the top of the screen.

Step 2: Check the heartbeat log

In the Receiver Logs window, set the following filters:

  • Log Type: Heartbeat
  • Receiver: Your Evalink receiver connection (e.g., "CHeKT Training Evalink Connection")
  • Date Range: Last 24 hours

Click Search.

Review the resulting log entries: white rows indicate the heartbeat acknowledgment is being received and communication is working normally. Red rows indicate the server is not acknowledging the heartbeat, signaling a communication problem that should be investigated.
