"Share Event Link" Option in the Monitoring Portal

"Share Event Link" Option in the Monitoring Portal

Authorized Portal Users now have access to an improved Event Link Sharing Interface that generates custom event URL's with a customizable time limit.

You will notice that the "buttons" in the CHeKT Monitoring Portal appear unchanged, but when you click on the "Share Event Link" button, there are expanded available options:

We will go through these two options in detail.
  1. This sharing method is designed to create a time-limited access window into an event clip/event video (MP4) event without the ability to download and "Keep" the video.
  2. Great for sharing clips with emergency response personnel, or a guard response service.
  3. The personal information that will be shared with the Recipient is listed below the heading for the monitoring operator; please take note of information prior to sending
    1. (Names and Phone Numbers of Contact List, Account Number, Address and site name)
After Clicking the create button on the response link:

The portal will create a unique URL that links directly to the selected clip.

  1. Enter Email and or Mobile phone number of Recipient(s) and press the (+)
  2. Select the time frame that recipients can access the clip  (Link Tokens will expire in 1 hour by default unless specified)
  3. Send from our portal interface by adding contacts and clicking the blue button, or copy paste the link and share it using your preferred method.
  4. Recipients, whether accessing the copy/pasted link or receiving the message from the cloud, will see this:

*Recipients can see Contact's Names, Phone Numbers, Account Name and Account Number will be visible; we have removed them from visibility in the example
  1. Live and Event Video Toggle at the top
  2. Both can be accessed with no limitation for the prescribed Time Frame
  3. Attempting to access beyond Link Life results in "Invalid Token"
The option on the right-hand side, after clicking that Share Event Link Button, is our new "download link" function.

(This is a different video access method than our already available clip download, and does not replace it: https://support.chekt.com/portal/kb/articles/event-clip-download)
  1. This Link will be accessible for 7 days and allows recipients access to a download instance of the clip.
  2. The clip, once downloaded, will not have any temporal restriction associated
  3. Great for sharing event video directly to contacts/selected end-users who have a need to save video for future access
  4. This link is a "one-time" download.
After clicking "create" simply select participants.

1. Select existing Emergency Contact Recipients by selecting
2. Add Non-Emergency contact emails here.
  1. Recipients will receive an email Immediately
  2. Recipients will have 7 days to access the one time download
  3. Recipients Receive an email from the cloud:
  4.

  5. The email will contain contact information for Emergency Contacts, general account and address info and time the contact number for the site in question.
  6. Link expires in 7 days, downloaded video is now a simple unrestricted MP4 File that will be saved to the machine just like the "Download Event" button.

CHeKT Recommends going through the process in a test environment with the CS staff, so the intended speed of operation isn't affected during first live utilization.
