Setting up New Accounts for Sentinel
When creating a new CHeKT customer account that will report to a Sentinel automaton platform you will need to work with the monitoring station. You will need two pieces of information form the monitoring station.
1. Setting up the Sentinel Customer Account
A. Adding a CHeKT Transmitter in Sentinel.
- Go to the customer record in Sentinel
- Add a new Transmitter
- The Transmitter type will be named what you created on step 2.A from these instructions. Click Here.
- Select you Next ID for the Signaling ID. (Notes: Sentinel does not use this number with receiving signals over the XML Receiver.)
- Set your Device ID: *Use a Unique ID (Notes: This is the value Sentinel uses as an account number when receiving signals on the XML Receiver.) (Device ID may use a different name and is defined when creating the Signaling Type.)
B. Defining the User Reference Field
- Go to the customer record in Sentinel
- Go to Details
- Select the General Tab.
- Set the User Reference field. (The value for this field will come from the Site ID on the customer information in the CHeKT Portal.
*If this monitoring station is already using the User Reference field for another application, then refer to special instructions below.
C. *Apply Special Instruction Token to a customer.
- Open Customer Record
- Go to Actions
- Special Instructions Tab
- In the Special Instructions URL use: {Token1} (Note: This is defined in step 1.A from the setup instructions here.)
- Save Settings
- Now this Special Instruction can be applied based on the monitoring center preferences.
- *(This step must be done on each new CHeKT Customer.)
2. Building the CHeKT Customer Account.
- Open the CHeKT Dealer Portal
- Create New Customer. For direction click here.
- Setup the Monitoring Station in the bottom right of the screen
- Select the Sentinel Monitoring Station.
- Account Number is Provided by the Monitoring Station. (This account number must match the Device ID field in Sentinel show in step 1.A above.)
- Reference is only used in special cases. See below.
Sentinel Monitoring Station Notes:
- Monitoring station will need to add the Contact ID codes for CHeKT and the default zone definitions used in the Sentinel Zone Templates used for each CHeKT Account.
- Each Bridge registered to a customer in the CHeKT Portal communicates as a zone number; 901, 902, 903....
- Each camera registered to a Bridge has a default zone number of 901A, 901B, 901C, 901D. Sentinel does not support letters in the zone number field and these defaults must be changed.
If your central monitoring station needs to incorporate the CHeKT Alarm codes into Event Translations Codes, you will need to contact Sentinel.
Special Cases:
When the Sentinel User Reference is already being used by another application, make the following adjustments.
- Do not change the User Reference value.
- Set the Reference ID in the CHeKT monitoring portal to this User Reference value. (Step 2 above.)
- Adjust your Special Instruction URL to use the following string: https://monitoring.chekt.com/monitoring?UID={UserReference}&zone={ZoneNumber}
