Swinger Bypass
What is a swinger zone?
An alarm sensor that "swings" randomly from open to closed and back to closed, regardless of the condition of the door or window it protects. This is usually caused by a worn out contact that is failing due to age or wiring. With our New Swinger Bypass feature, the Bridge is allowed to auto-bypass a zone "disabling the zone" from the system and avoid repeated false alarms signals caused by excessive activity, while leaving the remaining zones active. A zone bypassed by this setting, will reset by a re-arming of the site. This feature requires Bridge Firmware version 3.1.0 or higher.
Enabling The Bridge's Swinger Bypass
Its important to understand that the swinger bypass should not be the permenant solution to a faulty alarm zone wired into the DI (digitial input) of the bridge, and that its temporary fix to avoid a mass of false alarm events that could result in the over usage of your monthly event plan.
To enable the swinger bypass on a zone of the bridge, select the targed zone from the device list of a site.
In the settings window click on the "Alarm" tab and then click to select the Swinger Bypass settings.
In the swinger bypass setting, set the number of alarms the zone is allowed to create per arming and then click save changes. A setting of 0 disables the swinger bypass feature.
Swinger bypass and Camera Analytic Triggers
In addition to easing the alarm traffic of a faulty hard-wired detector as mentioned above, this feature can also be applied to inputs that are using network triggers sourced from camera analytics to suppress excessive alarms caused by adverse weather conditions. So if a site is prone or is expected to go through a major weather change the swinger bypass can be enabled, with the understanding that the swinger bypass will remained enabled and reseting after a re-arming, until the number is set back to 0.
