It's important to understand how to correctly set up the Account Numbers and Reference IDs in the CHeKT Portal. These numbers allow your central station automation software direct operators to the correct account in the CHeKT Portal during the alarm process.
Account Number
The Monitoring Station "Account Number" on your CHeKT customer account is the number transmitted for this customer's device to your central station software over the assigned XML receiver. This account number (also known as a transmitter number), can be used by the central station automation software to drive the operator back to the cameras while the operator is processing an alarm for the account. Programming this account number is like programming an account number into an alarm panel. In some cases, this account number will be the same as the alarm panel account number. (Contact your monitoring center to confirm.)
Using automated action steps of the automation software, you can set up your automation software to generate a URL similar to the one below. During the alarm processing by operators, the automation software will automatically launch the CHeKT Monitoring Portal with the URL, and push the operator directly to the camera at the customer's site.
The Account Number variable can be called in the URL by any of the following parameter names: (act, csid or txid)
https://monitoring.chekt.com/monitoring?act=3444&zone=017
The account number referenced in the above URL is generated from the account number variable in the automation platform, This number must match the "Account Number" in the CHeKT Dealer Portal customer account when this parameter is used in the URL.
- If the account number for this account in the central station automation platform 1234, then you will enter 1234 for this Accounts Monitoring Station. In this scenario, 1234 likely the same account number in the alarm panel and reporting to the central station.
- If your central station has assigned you an account a prefix, then you will enter the account number with a prefix, ABC1234. (Your monitoring center will provide you with your specific details and method.)
When XML signals are sent from the CHeKT portal to the central station XML receiver, this is the account number that will be sent in the XML Package.
- Note: If your central station's XML receiver adds the prefix to your account numbers you will need to request a change for all CHeKT Customers.
Account Reference ID
The "Reference ID" is another method of automatically driving an operator back to the correct account in the CHeKT Monitoring portal during an alarm. This field is never transmitted into your automation software, it will only be used to allow your automation software to direct the operators to the correct account. This is important for customers that have more than one transmitter ID on their account.
The Reference ID variable can be called in the URL by any of the following parameter names: (uid, massite, serialno or serial_no)
Does my Central Station require a Reference ID?
Central stations that use the following automation software platforms typically require a reference ID, although this is a decision of the central station.
- MasterMind: This is the Site ID from the customer record in MasterMind.
- Bold: This is the serial_no from the customer record in Bold.
- Sentinel: This is the User Reference Field from the account record in Sentinel.
No.
If two or more customer accounts have the same Monitoring Station Account number using the same Monitoring Station, signals can be crossed. This might cause the Monitoring Station to dispatch to the wrong account.
A receiver at a Monitoring Station is not able to have the same account number on more than one customer.
When adding a monitoring station to a customer, an account number is required. If this account number is already in use by the Monitoring Station you will not able to use the number. You will need to contact the Monitoring Station to confirm you are using the correct account number.
