Physical Triggers: Wiring Alarm Inputs on the Bridge

Depending on the device you are using to trigger the alarm zone on the bridge, there are a few ways you can wire into the bridge.  Below are 3 examples of wiring the Bridge Alarm zones.

1.  Zone Passthrough

In this illustration, the Bridge is powered by the same panel that the alarm zones are on.  With this scenario, the (G) Ground terminal does not need to be used, because all ground terminals on the Bridge are common.

2. Relay Controlled

This wiring option would be used when an alarm panel supports programmable relay outputs base on a zone trigger.  This is beneficial when using wireless transmitters on an alarm panel.  The Relay Output can be on the alarm control panel or a programmable relay board.



3. Relay Module 

This wiring option illustrates the use of a relay module to trigger the alarm zone of the bridge.  The alarm inputs of a Bridge can be programmed to support (N.O. or N.C) conditions.  It is important to note, that in this wiring example, the ground between the power and the relay module is not common.
