Understanding On-Demand 2-Minute Event Video "Rewind"

The On-Demand video event request is used to assist monitoring agents with capturing additional information from live cameras on a site and can be used for pairing video events with wireless alarm panel zones.  Once an On-Demand event is created it is available in the history of the account and it can be shared, verified, and downloaded.

The On-Demand video event can be created in two ways:
  1. Automatically Generated
  2. Manually Generated

Automatic On-Demand Event Video (Fail-Safe & Wireless Zones)

When a central station is using a CHeKT integrated alarm automation software platform, these automation platforms can automatically request an On-Demand event when a video event does not exist in the CHeKT Monitoring Portal.  This is a fail-safe method when the CHeKT Bridge is configured in Alarm Panel Paring Mode and can be used for creating alarm event video for wireless alarm panel zones.

For accounts monitored with CHeKT, when the automation platform receives an alarm signal from a pair burg system and opens the CHeKT Monitoring portal with the zone information in the URL and a video event that zoned camera does not exist, then the CHeKT monitoring portal will automatically request the previous 2 minutes of video from the camera and create the On-Demand event for the operator.

This allows an alarm system with wireless alarm zones to create video events that will be stored and can be verified and shared.

Manually Creating an On-Demand Event Video

The 2-minute event video can also be manually created by an operator while viewing the live view of a stream with valuable information.

1. With the live view of a camera stream opened in the Monitoring Portal, simply click the "Playback" button:

2. The view will change to one containing 2 windows, and the portal will inform you that your 2-minute playback clip is being generated:

3. The playback loop will play on repeat in the window on the right and you will notice it has appeared in the queue as an event:
