Monitoring Portal Sessions – Overview

The Monitoring Portal uses a session-based model to manage each instance of portal access. A new session is automatically generated every time the portal is opened, whether that's in a new browser tab, a new window, or following a page refresh. Sessions do not carry over between openings, meaning all monitoring activity is associated exclusively with the current active session. This approach ensures that activity is accurately tracked, properly isolated, and that the system behaves consistently with every access to the portal.

Session Duration and Timer
Each monitoring session has a 60‑minute time limit.
You can track the remaining time by viewing the session timer in the top‑right corner of the Monitoring Portal.


During the session, three reminder prompts will appear at the following intervals:










 

     

























When a reminder appears, you must choose one of the following options:

  • Complete Session – Ends the session and opens the Session Summary
  • Extend Session – Continues the session and displays the remaining time

A selection must be made to dismiss the reminder.
 - If no selection is made within 5 minutes,  the session will automatically complete.

Ending A Session

A session can be ended in either of the following ways:
Click Complete Session in the top‑right corner of the Monitoring Portal


The session reaches the 60 minute mark and is automatically completed and will direct you to the Session Summary



Session Summary

The Session Summary is displayed at the end of every session or when Complete Session is selected.




The first dropdown allows you to select a general category that best describes the session.



The second dropdown provides a more detailed description.

InfoBoth selections are required to complete the session.




Notes

The 
Notes field should be used to record any additional details or important information related to the session.


Click Save and Complete Session to finalize the session and close the Monitoring Portal.




Viewing a Completed Session

To view a session summary after it has been completed:
Click Reports > MP Sessions



Select the session you want to review.

View all of the session details and notes. 

From the top right corner you can:
 Edit the session or Create an Incident Report
