Using The Talk Down Service

In this guide we'll go over how to utilize the Talk Down Service from The Monitoring Portal and The End-User App.

Important Notes: 
  1. The Audio Talk-Down service for the site must be enabled.  Click here for directions.
  2. The Bridge must be installed and wired to a local amplified speaker system. Click here for information.
  3. The Talk Down Service can be also be used over an IP Speaker. Click here for directions & information.

The Monitoring Portal

The Talk Down Button is located in the Live window of a camera stream, you can select the live stream directly from the matrix view or from an ongoing alarm event: 



Select the preset Text To Speech Message or Audio file and click Send Audio Message.

You can opt to type a custom TTS in real-time. To do so, you simply click on the Custom button at the top right corner, type your message and then click Send Audio Message. 



You can now send live - recorded audio messages that will be played back immediately
Simply select the new "Live" option:




Click the start button to begin the recording:



Speak your message and hit "Send Live Message."




The End-User App

In the same way that the Talk Down Button is found in the Live Window of the cameras in the monitoring portal, it is also found in the live camera streams in The End-User App. 



In the App you simply click the desired preset Text To Speech Message or Audio file and it will send automatically.


Custom TTS is also available in the app. Click on the Custom button at the top of the preset list, type your message and then click Send.
