Creating a Monitoring Station Record

Creating a Monitoring Station Record

Info
The monitoring station record is required for all CHeKT Dealers.  The Monitoring Station record is what is assigned to your customer accounts.  When you create a new customer you will select the appropriate monitoring station record.  This is the company that will monitor your CHeKT customers. This monitoring station needs to be the same central station that is monitoring the alarm panel for that customer.
Alert
*If you are a monitoring center you must create your XML Receiver connection before setting up the Monitoring Station settings.  Click here for directions.
**If you are an alarm installing company that uses a contract monitoring center, you may be able to select your center from the "Monitoring Station" list or you will need to contact the center for the information you need to set up your Monitoring Center.

When you create a monitoring station, it will be available for you to select when creating your customer accounts.

1. Go to Dealer Settings.

2. Select the Monitoring Station settings.

3. Press "Add" in the top right.

4. Complete the following information and press "Create"

Monitoring Station: Select your own central station if you operate one; otherwise, choose the third-party monitoring company that receives your alarm signals. This determines who ultimately gets notified when an event occurs.

Alarm Receiver: This is the specific XML receiver endpoint configured by the central station to accept signals. If no receiver is selected, XML alarm events will not be transmitted.

Passkey: Enter the authentication key provided by the central station for their XML receiver. Without the correct passkey, the dealer will not be able to save the information or move on to the next step.

Name: Enter a clear, identifiable name for this monitoring station configuration. This helps distinguish it if multiple stations are set up.

Description: Provide a brief explanation or internal note about this monitoring station. This is for organizational reference only and does not affect signal transmission.

Prefix: Enter the PREFIX assigned by the central station if required. This is optional and only needed id specified by the monitoring provider.

Receiver Number: Enter the receiver number assigned by the central station if required. This is optional and only needed if specified by the monitoring provider.

Linecard: Enter the line card ID specified by the central station. This identifies the specific communication path or board that will process the signal.

DNIS: Enter the DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service) number if your central station uses it. This helps the receiving system identify which number the signal was sent to for proper routing.

Notes
DNIS Notes:
  • 5 digits minimum are required when entering a DNIS value.
  • Special Characters are supported in the DNIS value for the Monitoring Station Settings.
  • If "site level DNIS" is enabled, that value is restricted to alphanumeric entries.
  • Some additional data on the 5-digit limit:
    • DNIS can be entered with more than 5 characters; however, when it is transmitted, only the last 5 characters are sent.
    • This digit-length limitation is often defined by the automation software protocol.

Info
Enable Site Level DNIS:

·   When this box is checked a field will appear under "Monitoring Station" in the general page allowing you to add a DNIS that will be sent in with the alarm signal from that site.

·  This setting gives the ability to have different sites send different DNIS values even when they are connected to the same monitoring station record.

Once you have created a monitoring station you can now assign customer accounts to use this monitoring station.
